Yusuke Nakahara

When I was 17 years old, I was placed in a foster home. Before I moved to this foster home, I was living with my parents.  After my parents got a divorce, my mother remarried, and our family relationship became progressively worse.  When I was no longer able to cope with what was happening in the home, I went to the area child protection services on my own and sought help.  I stayed at a temporary facility several times, and finally was moved to my foster home where I lived for 2 years.

For the last 4 years, I have been working at a manufacturing company as a product management staff.  My position at this company imposes a lot of responsibility, and therefore, I am always busy.  However, I am living a fulfilled life. Through IFCA, I would like to work towards improving child welfare and child abuse prevention, and as a foster care alum, I hope to tell my own stories and opinions to many people.  I also want to become a person who is self-reliant and pro-active.
