As a foster youth alumni, I had the opportunity to participate in the “Opinion Exchange Forum on Strengthening Independent Living Support for Foster Care” held at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in August with my fellow Tokyo team member, Ms. Harada.
I’ve participated in an opinion exchange session at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
I’d love to see a society where people who were hurt can receive care, and where everyone living today have some room for others and listen to them.
In the future, when I thought about the worst case of losing my job I thought making a change without having a job on hand would be difficult, and I worried about my health during self-isolation.
We’ve come this far, and I didn’t expect this situation to continue. For two months we’ve started thinking about the future and preparing for the second wave.
Since I knew the negative aspect of institutionalized care, I want to tell all parents who are allowing their children to be in child protection facilities that their children are not guaranteed adequate and appropriate living condition in these facilities.
