We’ve come this far, and I didn’t expect this situation to continue. For two months we’ve started thinking about the future and preparing for the second wave.
I cannot turn to my family and, more than that, not even being able to meet with my dearest friends has been difficult for me. I stay home everyday and at night I am overwhelmed by stress.
I somehow distract myself and do various things but ultimately still being ‘a single woman’ nearly broke my heart. When the state of emergency declaration was lifted, my feelings calmed down a bit and peaceful days continued.
I am very thankful for the IFCA supportive adults and all of the youth that listened to my story when I wanted to return to work and the situation became difficult. I am relieved that I have been able to use my voice and speak of the things that I am thinking about. I thought I also had to be strong for us, seeing those concerned sharing that they got transferred. Since people around me were being let go or made to leave their jobs, I didn’t think I should feel down.
I think the second wave will come when summer ends. Until then I think it is important to do what you must do and find an adult you can rely on when you start your current life again.
